ISSUE #14
Everyday/Tomorrow
by Sun Glitters
Sun Glitters' latest album, Everyday/Tomorrow is the perfect album to throw on and reflect on the year or decade. It might have been a bad year, it might have been a good year, or it could've been a some unique combination of both. Either way, this album was made to listen to and ponder (but never dwell).
Luxembourg-based Sun Glitters delivers 20 tracks spanning 45 minutes in duration. The first half of the album is straight up drone and dissonance with hints of downtempo beats sprinkled throughout. It's a dark dream that sits at the borderline of nightmarish.
Throughout its duration, the album evolves into several different beasts: some bigger, some darker, and some that make you move to the music that often sounds like something that should be on Brainfeeder.
My only complaint is that some of my favorite tracks are a little too short. I could listen to Untitled 7 for an additional six minutes, but that's just me. Favorite tracks: Look at the Moon, Untitled 7, Mind Your Head, Shadow, Lifeguard

lo-fi_house.zip - majestic
lo-fi_house.zip, once extracted, opens a program in your mind that floods your nostalgia receptors, increases environmental bloom and runs a head-bobbing script you won’t be able to deactivate for at least 35 minutes.
This mix of dreamy, atmospheric and emotive house beats issues forth on a silver ribbon from Majestic Casual - not so much a record label or production community, but something more of an electronic tastemaker. Their wildly popular playlists and YouTube channel has introduced us to many a beloved track over the years, and this release is no exception - every track hits us softly and deeply, splitting force between the feels and dance organs of the body.
While these 7 tracks are collected from various artists, the aesthetic is undeniably cohesive - warm and refracted, like sun streaming through breeze-blown curtains ornamented with crystal baubles. This is music to stargaze to, sink into a hot bath by candlelight to.
Contemplative piano and majestic flutes soar on nightwinds propeller silkily forward by starkly contrasting tinny hi hats and subdermal bass. Pitched down vocals murmur in tides as the energy shifts and flows, effortless between tracks. Thoughtful and thoughtless at once, this is truly easy listening music.
Our favorite tracks are 100 reasons, Promethium Reprise and omokage. but you absolutely can spare a half hour of your day to wander the realms of memory and fantasy to this beautifully curated mix. If this does to you what it did to me, you’ll want to follow Majestic Casual and keep those earballs peeled for their next collection.
Thanks for reading, and keep it dreamy!
