Wonder Ballroom

Wonder Ballroom

The Wonder Ballroom is wonderful. Located in a quiet neighborhood of Portland’s Northeast quadrant, this medium-sized venue resembles a church or meeting hall and houses intimate shows with enough room to move and accommodations for those wishing to eat, smoke or sit. The building is over 100 years old but has been restored beautifully.

The sound in here is great and speaker coverage ample. Bump recommends stopping by the box office to save a few dollars on a physical ticket (no fees in person) and grab a sandwich from Bunk or some Tapas or Japanese food from the neighboring restaurants.

21+ shows are rare here, and as such the dancefloor is usually split length-wise with the bar, access to smoking area and balcony to the right. If you’re looking for water, it’s generally against the left wall - also a great place to sneak up towards the front.
